You have to understand that statistically speaking most Playstation Xbox gamers are fans of Nintendo, if you look at the age group at some point in time these Gamers have owned a Nintendo system in their lives.
So I don't see what would benefit the actual Company by not releasing on PlayStation and Xbox ,when they could just released on all three platforms Most of my theories regarding this are only based on if the switch actually fails. Mind you I don't disagree with you that they would get more money by just going to an established install base simply that not a lot of signs point towards them doing that right now, considering you know. Have you not considered what are they really gaining by not releasing on PlayStation and Xbox based on your theory? I'm not entirely sure why you would even be advocating for them to only go on PC which doesn't really make any sense why would they want to make only a little bit of money? When it it makes much more sense to just go all in? If Nintendo ever had any plans of doing that I don't actually think they would have spent the probably billions marketing and developing the switch, in fact it would make much more sense for them to use all of that money to just go software only and develop on all three major platforms.
